The draft Land Use Plan encourages coordination between the city and school district.
The city met with FBISD leadership, including Dr. Dupre, to share the recommendations of the Land Use Plan. Dr. Dupre commented that “Fort Bend ISD is continuously planning for the future, and we are pleased to partner with the City of Sugar Land as they update the Land Use Plan. Just as our community benefits from our strong public schools, our public schools benefit from the city’s planning efforts that ensure quality development and redevelopment within the city. Through our ongoing collaboration, Fort Bend ISD is able to proactively respond to projected enrollment growth that comes with the addition of new homes in our community. I am also pleased that the completion of the city’s plan aligns well with the beginning of the District’s facilities planning efforts, which will start in early 2018.”
