Mr. Zimmerman is a Senior Consultant for Halff Associates, Inc., a Texas-based civil engineering consulting firm founded in 1950. He has extensive business experience, having served in senior management positions in a number of different industries. He is active in his community and has been involved in the Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce, Literacy Council of Fort Bend and Fort Bend County Toll Road Authority.
Councilman Zimmerman was elected the 10th Mayor of Sugar Land on June 11, 2016 after serving four years as the At-Large, Position 2, City Councilman. He currently serves on the Economic Development Committee, Intergovernmental Relations Committee, Land-Use Task Force, Sugar Land Development Corporation Board and as the COSL representative on the HGAC Board and Transportation Policy Council. Prior to being elected to City Council, he was a member of the Planning and Zoning Commission for eight years, serving six years as Chairman. He is a 2015 graduate of the Sugar Land Regional Airport Academy.
Mr. Zimmerman earned his BSCE from UH and MBA from Houston Baptist University. He and his wife of almost 42 years, Nancy, have lived in Sugar Land since 1990 and are active members of Second Baptist Church Woodway. Their daughter, Allison, her husband Chris Wallace, granddaughter Emmy and grandson Campbell live in Houston.

Diana Miller is a long-time community advocate representing the interests of Sugar Land residents. Diana recently supported efforts in the State Legislature to provide property tax relief, she supported legislation to allow residents in annexed communities the right to vote prior to annexation, and she is now leading efforts to mitigate future flooding in Sugar Land. Diana serves on the National Association & Texas Association of Realtors Land Use Committees.
Diana worked as an Asset Manager with Houston’s largest commercial development companies and with the Federal Government’s Resolution Trust Corporation where she managed a real estate portfolio in excess of $1 billion.
Diana and her husband Randy have two children, both graduates of Clements High School. Their children own homes in Sugar Land and are educating their children in Sugar Land public schools. Diana’s son-in-law is a Lieutenant with Sugar Land PD. Randy and Diana have been members of St. Laurence Parish since 1985.
Diana has a degree in Political Science from UH. The Miller’s have an endowed scholarship at UHSL. Diana volunteers with Child Advocates as a CASA, and with the Fort Bend Education Foundation. Diana is a 2016 graduate of the prestigious Fort Bend Chamber Leadership Program.

First elected in 2012 at the age of 35, Councilman Himesh Gandhi was the youngest councilman to be elected in a citywide vote. He has served on numerous City Council committees and was also a member of the task force that spearheaded the development of the Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land—an iconic concert and performance hall that opened last year.
Other successes and projects launched by the city during Gandhi’s previous term include the successful annexations of Greatwood and New Territory, the acquisition of a former prison site for redevelopment, the completion of drainage projects and the return to normal operations after the devastating effects of Hurricane Harvey.
Gandhi is an attorney and shareholder with the law firm Roberts Markel Weinberg Butler Hailey PC. He is board certified in commercial real estate law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization. He has served leading roles in numerous community organizations. In 2015, he was honored by the Houston Business Journal as one of the region’s 40 Under 40 young leaders.
Gandhi earned a BBA from Houston Baptist University and his law degree from the South Texas College of Law Houston. He and his wife Farrah and son Jaiden live in the Telfair neighborhood.

Mrs. Lane is a lifetime resident of Fort Bend County and a very proud granddaughter of employees that worked at our city’s iconic Imperial Sugar Company for decades.
A 16-year resident of Greatwood, wife and mother, community advocate, Jennifer Lane knows Sugar Land. As a supporter of education and for teachers and students, Jennifer Lane has been committed to representing and working with board members and elected officials to get things done. Jennifer served as the President of the PTO at Reading Junior High School, has worked as a substitute teacher for LCISD, and participated as a member and spokesperson of the LCISD Citizen’s Bond Committee. Mrs. Lane is familiar with working with large fiscal budgets, prioritizing issues, and is a champion of honoring Sugar Land’s rich history.
Jennifer has nearly 10-years of experience as a Human Resource administrator and a holds BA in Business from LeTourneau University. Personally, Jennifer is a former volunteer at St Theresa Catholic Church and continues to be active in several local organizations and charities, including the Fort Bend County Fair and the George Ranch High School’s Band Booster Club.
Mrs. Lane looks forward to representing the city she knows and loves.

As a proud American and Texan, Farha Ahmed has made her home in Sugar Land for the past 28 years.
Farha Ahmed has practiced law for more than 20 years. Her firm, located in Sugar Land Town Square, specializes in helping small and midsize businesses. In 2008, she and her husband started a hedge fund where she is Chief Compliance and Financial Officer.
Ms. Ahmed served for 4 years on the City of Sugar Land’s Planning and Zoning Commission. She is a graduate of the Sugar Land Citizens’ Police Academy and Sugar Land 101. Farha served on the Citizens’ Bond Advisory Committee and was elected to the First Colony Community Association board. Active in the community, she currently serves on the board of The Fort Bend Chamber of Commerce and Child Advocates of Fort Bend. She is an active member of Sugar Land Exchange Club and volunteers with Big Brothers/Big Sisters.
Ms. Ahmed earned her Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Houston Baptist University and her law degree from South Texas College of Law.
